The Frisco Barroom, One of the Best Webster Groves Restaurants
St. Louis is home to many excellent locally-owned restaurants.
Continue reading to discover why I believe The Frisco Barroom is one of the best restaurants in Webster Groves and the St. Louis area.
I walk into the restaurant through the back door and squint to see what’s up. It’s dark inside after facing that harsh afternoon sun, making it hard for my eyes to adjust. Still getting used to the dim light, I plop down at my usual spot at the bar. The bartender spots me and realizes who I am as he gets closer, the sun from the windows behind me casting a shadow over my face. He knows the drill: “The chicken sandwich or the chili today?” I go with the chicken sandwich.
At The Frisco Barroom, you’ll feel right at home. It is one of the best restaurants in Webster Groves. People stroll in from outside, just hanging out between work and grabbing the kids for a quick bite or a drink. The bartender knows everyone and chats with them like they’re old pals. Their logo does say “family and friends,” after all.
The food here is delicious! Everything I have tried has been great. Even the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered without bread is moist and not overcooked like at many other places. My favorite side dish is the whole green beans with garlic cloves. They make their food from scratch, and you can taste the difference.
The Frisco offers a diverse selection of wines, beers, and, of course, cocktails, thus ensuring that there is something for everyone. My favorite is the Boulevardier, and I noticed this restaurant was one of the first in St. Louis to feature it on its menu. It reminded me of my pre-COVID trips to New Orleans, where Boulevardiers were easy to find on cocktail menus.
Frisco features a beautiful, partially covered patio with a lovely fireplace. It is dog-friendly. Frisco also features a rooftop area that is perfect for enjoying lunch in pleasant weather.
Parking is convenient, with a lot located behind the restaurant.
If you’re looking for a local dining option, I recommend The Frisco Barroom, one of the best Webster Groves restaurants.
