the Five best breakfa st joints in St. Louis to check out!

I’ve lived in the St. Louis Metro area all my life, so I know a thing or two about breakfast. It’s my absolute favorite meal of the day, and I love finding a great spot for a delicious breakfast that I don’t have to cook myself. When I say breakfast, I mean breakfast, not brunch. Even though brunch might also be available at these restaurants on this list, my focus is on breakfast. I’m not waiting until 10 or 11 am to eat breakfast. I’m the type who needs it first thing in the morning! Here’s my list.

Bowood by Niche

Central West End – 4605 Olive St, Saint Louis, MO 63108

This restaurant is truly unique and beautiful, featuring a greenhouse and plants for sale. You can purchase a Bowood Sangria and a Boston Fern to accompany your breakfast. How cool is that? Situated in the historic Central West End neighborhood within an old automotive warehouse from the 1920s, this establishment is both a garden store and a restaurant. Enjoy your breakfast surrounded by lush greenery – what better way to start your day?

The Barn

Crestwood – 1015 S Sappington Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63126

Don’t forget to come early, or you might end up waiting. This place has a following for its awesome quiche, but they also have a bunch of other good stuff on the menu. If you’re lucky, you might snag a table on the back porch with a cool view of the yard behind the historic Sappington House.

Hammerstone’s

Historic Soulard neighborhood – 2028 S. 9th St. St. Louis, MO 63104

This is the local tavern with fantastic “stick-to-your-ribs” food. It has been our go-to weekend breakfast spot for my husband and me for years. I always order the Soulard Omelette and, of course, the Bloody Mary—both spicy, by the way. If you’re feeling adventurous, you should try their Hammer Swinger’s Slinger.

Rooster

Downtown – 1025 Washington St. Louis MO 63101 Grand – 3150 South Grand Blvd, St. Louis MO 63118

I love Rooster! It has this cool European vibe and the best thing about it is their crepes. You can turn any crepe into an omelet with eggs, which is my go-to. And the best part? Everything is made fresh, including the in-house baked bread.

Chris’ @ the Docket

Downtown – 100 N Tucker Blvd, Saint Louis, MO 63101

For our yearly Mom’s Day Out, we decided to kick things off here. Another mom friend had been here before and couldn’t stop talking about their amazing mimosa menu. I have to admit, I am pretty impressed too. They came pre-mixed and in a carafe for sharing, so we picked a couple and began pouring. My favorite was the Pop’s Fizz, it had Pixie Dust – or at least that’s what it looked like to me. I was totally fascinated by the sparkles in my glass.
