Best Hotels in Las Vegas Off the Strip

I started searching for the best hotels in Las Vegas off the Strip several years ago, aiming for a more peaceful and convenient experience.

Looking for the best hotels in Las Vegas off the Strip? I’ve compiled a list of fantastic places that have a unique vibe, excellent amenities, and a way more laid-back atmosphere than the Strip craziness. Easy parking, easy access to my room, restaurants and bars nearby, and a bit more quiet than strip hotels, each spot has its distinctive personality, making it perfect for chilling out or having some fun.

When I first started visiting Vegas, I was just like everyone elseโ€”I wanted to check out the Strip! Whenever I saw clients in town, I stayed at a different hotel along the Strip, from the Venetian to Mandalay Bay, totally caught up in the wow factor of all the lights and the buzz of tourism the Strip had to offer.

I eventually grew tired of the hustle and bustle of the Strip. I wanted to explore more of what Las Vegas had to offer, and I found that off-the-strip hotels provided a quieter atmosphere, easier parking, and more convenient access to my room. Keep reading for my recommendations on unique Las Vegas hotels located off the Strip.

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa

1610 Lake Las Vegas Parkway, Henderson, Nevada, 89011, USA

I can hear you now!!! “That hotel is WAY off the Strip!”

Yes, that location is quite far from the Strip. A client of mine once asked, “Why are you staying so far out? That’s where we locals go for a quick getaway!” To which I replied, “First, it’s actually fewer miles than my daily commute to the office, and second, it’s peaceful!”

This hotel used to be a Ritz-Carlton, and it totally has that luxury vibe while sitting right by a lake. Go for a room with a lake viewโ€”I’ve stayed here a few times and always preferred one with a view. You just can’t beat it!

You’ll love the free self-parking and the fancy vibe with incredible lake views. A cute little village is nearby with shops and restaurants within walking distance. Andโ€ฆdid you hear me mention that it’s super quiet, which is an extremely nice bonus? Plus, you’re just roughly 17 miles from the Strip.

M Resort

12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Henderson, NV 89044

The M is a long favorite of mine. It’s on Las Vegas Blvd. Just don’t expect to walk to the Strip! In Henderson, at the far south end of Las Vegas Blvd, 12 miles from the Strip, the M offers easy parking and easy walking to your room from the parking lot. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with a large wall of windows and electronic window screens, and a bathtub with a similar electronic screen and window so you can look out the window through the room to the outside. This is my favorite feature of the rooms here at the M.

They have plenty of amenities, places to eat and drink, an outdoor patio with views of the pool and the beautiful surrounding area, and easy parking.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

4455 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89169

The newer hotel in the area, it is absolutely stunning! Parking is super easy, and the casino is just the right sizeโ€”no long walks to reach my room. And the best part? Parking is FREE, including valet service! The rooms are superb, with all the modern amenities that make life easy for business travelers. You’ll find outlets everywhere, so no need to worry about charging devices!

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas offers numerous food and bar outlets, a trendy atmosphere, and stylish decor just off the Strip on Paradise Road. It’s one of my favorites, providing a refreshing change from the typical hotel casino experience.

Red Rock Resort

11011 W Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89135

From what my friends have told me, this casino is a locals’ hangout. It’s also a nice pick for travelers who want to stay away from the Strip but not too far. It’s close to the entrance of Red Rock Canyon, so those who want to venture out for some hiking may find this a good choice.

It has excellent views from the rooms, easy free parking, and lots of places to eat and drink.

Aliante Casino Hotel Spa

7300 North Aliante Parkway, North Las Vegas, NV 89084

A smaller hotel, the rooms feel new. It is located North of the Strip, just 14 miles (22 if you take the highway). The Aliante feels more like a hotel-casino in a midwestern town with which I am so familiar. It is small and cozy but beautiful and comfortable. There are places to eat and grab a drink. Easy parking, no long walks to my room.

The Westin Las Vegas Hotel & Spa

160 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, 89109

This hotel, just a block off the Strip, was my first venture off the Strip and became my go-to when I tired of the huge casinos. The big reason I liked it was how close it was to my client’s office and Las Vegas Blvd., which made it easy to hit the Strip if I wanted to. Plus, the parking was easy and free, and I didn’t have to walk miles to get to my room. And the pillows were amazing!

What else?

Here are some additional hotels in Las Vegas that are located off the Strip for you to consider. I’ve visited these hotels, but I either haven’t stayed there or it has been so long since my visit that I can’t provide an informed opinion on the rooms and an overnight stay.

Durango Casino Resort

Durango Casino Resort is a new casino located on Durango Drive. During my visit, I had the chance to explore a couple of the restaurants, including The George, which offers American cuisine in a partially outdoor setting (of course, I love this!). I also dined at Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant, where I was intrigued by several dishes that required some explanation, but I was truly amazed by the flavors and the overall dining experience.

A visit to Mijo’s wouldn’t be complete without a slight detour through a hidden door leading to the Wax Rabbit, a speakeasy that serves traditional cocktails made with tequila or mezcal. An Old Fashioned with tequila instead of bourbon? Heck yeah! It was delicious.

This casino is indeed new, and it clearly shows in its beautiful design and the fantastic speakeasy experience it offers.

Green Valley Ranch

Green Valley Ranch is located in Henderson. Although I stayed there quite a long time ago, I don’t feel qualified to speak to it now as my experience was so long ago. However, a few people I know have recommended it to me. The area has a lovely street filled with shops and restaurants nearby. They market themselves as “a refined off-the-strip resort experience.”
