Why I Loved It
The Alluvian, a name inspired by the rich Mississippi River soil of the Mississippi Delta, totally captures the vibe of this area! It mixes that classic small-town feel with a touch of Southern charm. It is one of the most charming hotels in Greenwood, Mississippi. As soon as I walked in, I was taken in by the local art, beautiful decor, and the cute doorbells on the room doors! The hotel is super clean, and the friendly hospitality makes every visit feel like a warm hug. It’s the kind of experience that leaves you feeling comforted and right at home!

I was first introduced to this hotel during a business trip. Up until then, I hadn’t been aware of its existence or its connection to Viking, the stove company. Viking opened the hotel in 2003 under a different name to help revitalize Greenwood and provide a place for their business guests to stay when visiting their offices.
After that initial visit, I found myself taking the longer, back route home on future business trips to Mississippi just to stay at this hotel.
One of the coolest things about The Alluvian is its awesome history as a Viking Range hotel, which really ties together Greenwood‘s industrial past with its modern yet still small-town atmosphere today. Plus, there’s a great restaurant on-site, so guests can enjoy delicious dishes while soaking up the festive atmosphere. The Alluvian really captures the spirit of the Delta, offering a warm and cozy feel that makes the holiday season feel extra special!
