The Hotel
- View from a guest room
- Looking out to the courtyard
- The magnifiscent lobby
Magnolia Omaha is in a beautiful historic building built in 1923. The builders wanted it to resemble a palace from Italy giving tribute to their grandfather. The gorgeous arched ceiling and travertine walls were the first thing I saw when entering the lobby. Stunning! Of course, I had to start investigating, walking around. I wandered down the hallway and found this perfect courtyard. Serene and beautiful. Ideal for sitting in peace in the morning with a cup of coffee. They also have weddings here, which makes sense. It’s beautiful.
The Room
The room has all the comforts of a modern hotel. There is no need to crawl around on the floor looking for outlets; they have them ready for you. And it’s lovely. Plus, the pillows were fabulous!
The Food
Olive & Ira’s serves American food in a charming setting. I enjoyed a cocktail next to the fireplace. And, of course, headed back for breakfast the following day.
What Else?
- The fireplace at Olive & Ira’s
- The courtyard
- The directory from when the building was an office
The arched ceiling in the gorgeous lobby and the courtyard set this hotel apart. Yes, the rooms are fantastic, too, and up to par with the modern needs of a business traveler. It’s also in a very walkable area. Walk downtown, or walk to Old Market. It’s in a perfect spot. The staff was friendly and helpful. And I love the original directory still on display in the lobby, reflecting its time as an office building, a nod to the past. The Magnolia Omaha is a hotel you should consider when you stay in Omaha; it is one of the best hotels in Omaha.
